Who We Are

International Sikh Sports Council

Founded on June 30, 2015, the International Sikh Sports Council was established by individuals deeply devoted to the Sikh Panth, driven by a vision to restore and celebrate the illustrious image of Kesadhari (unshorn hair) Sikhs on national and international sports stages. Recognizing the diminishing presence of Kesadhari Sikhs in sports, our mission is to bring their unique and powerful image back to prominence.
By fostering a supportive and encouraging environment, the International Sikh Sports Council is committed to elevating Sikh athletes and honoring the rich heritage of the Sikh community in the world of sports.

Why Choose Us?

The objective has been set reminiscing the fact that illustrious image of Kesadhari Sikhs at national and international sports platform is fading away. Physical appearance at these podiums has a unique image. With the aim of bringing more Kesadhari (ones with unshorn hairs) Sikh players on the national and international platform of sports, on 30th June 2015, a trust on the name of “International Sikh Sports Council” has been formed by people having love of Sikh Panth in their hearts.

The main objective of this trust aims to provide, needy and good Sikh players and groom their talents in sports. The trust also aims to host national and international competitions in different games/sports at national and international levels alongwith motivating and helping these players

Sikligar Sikhs are the pride of Sikh community but have been sidelined at numerous occasions. These Sikhs stay in different parts of the country, and even in the hard times of poverty, their passion for Sikhi is exorbitant, and the unshorn hairs they keep is the proof of their commitment to the Panth. The trust will also aim to raise the life standards of Sikligar Sikhs and their children which are currently living below the poverty line. Their kids will be provided with good education and will also be encouraged to participate in sports. Keeping Guru Nanak’s “sewa” principle upfront, trust will also participate in other social service activities such as, blood donation camps, planting trees for a cleaner environment and other such works.

Under-19 Six-a-side Hockey Tournament has been initiated by ISSC at Jarkhar (Ludhiana) from 11th to 15th October 2015 at AstroTurf ground.
