8 teams will participate, the winning teams will get a prize money of 1 lakh rupees

International Sikh Sports Council with the support of Mata Sahib Kaur Hockey Academy Jarkhar is starting the first Kesadhari Sikh Under-19 Schools Academies Hockey Tournament from 2nd to 6th December with efforts to connect young Sikh children with Sikhism and inspire hockey. A new blue colored astroturf is being organized at Mata Sahib Kaur Sports Stadium Jarkhar. President of International Sikh Sports Council Jasvir Singh Mohali, Director Karnail Singh Pir Muhammad informed that the main purpose of this tournament is to connect children to Sikhism and promote the national sport of hockey. In this tournament, 8 names of Uttar Barat will participate. Academies will participate.
Among them Olympian Surjit Academy Jalandhar, Chandigarh Academy 42 Sector, PIS Academy Mohali, Baba Uttam Singh Academy Khadur Sahib, Grewal Academy Fort Raipur, Mata Sahib Kaur Hockey Academy Jarkhar, Dhyan Singh Academy Jammu Kashmir, Sromani Gurdwara Management Committee Hockey Akademi Amritsar will participate. Apart from a prize money of Rs 1 lakh to the performing teams, the best players will be honored with the best award and prize money. In which the champion team will get Rs 51,000, the runner-up will get Rs 31,000, while the third place team will get a prize money of Rs 21,000 and commemorative trophies. The tournament will be played on the basis of league cum knock-out system. The said 8 teams will be divided into 2 different pools. The best 2 teams from each pool will qualify for the semi-finals. He said that for the successful implementation of this tournament, the management committee of Gurdwara Manji Sahib Jarkhar will provide langar service for all the teams while good accommodation will be provided to all the teams at the Jarkhar Stadium. 4 matches will be played every day. In which 2 matches will be played under sunlight and two matches will be played under flood lights. These matches will be played from 2 PM to 8 PM. Sikh Sports Council Secretary Manmohan Singh and Gurmeet Singh said that the opening ceremony of the tournament will be held on December 2 at 1 pm. During this time, apart from the march past of various teams, Gatka and other Sikh cultural performances will be the center of attraction. This tournament will be inaugurated by prominent Sikh personalities.
The final match to be played on December 6 and the semi-final match to be played on December 5 will be broadcast by Akal Channel UK. The preparations for this tournament are being carried out vigorously by the Sikh Sports Council.
